How does a yacht charter work?
Tell our concierge the experience, destination, date and number of guests you have in mind. We suggest the yachts that match your request and send a tailor-made proposal, with an experienced crew on board.
How much does a yacht charter in Rio de Janeiro cost?
The price depends on the yacht, the duration, the destination, the date and the services included, such as catering and décor. Send us your request and our concierge will reply with a detailed proposal.
Where are you based?
Our office is at Marina da Glória, Av. Infante Dom Henrique, s/n, Glória, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Can I customise the itinerary?
Yes. Our concierge designs the itinerary with you. Stops are confirmed according to sea and weather conditions, for your safety and comfort.
Where do you operate?
Rio de Janeiro on Guanabara Bay, Barra da Tijuca, Angra dos Reis, Paraty, Búzios, Cabo Frio and Arraial do Cabo.
Can I bring my own catering, décor or sound system?
Yes. You can book the services we recommend or bring the suppliers of your choice.
Do children and babies count as guests?
Yes. Everyone on board, including children and babies, counts towards the capacity stated in the yacht’s documents. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
Can I stay overnight on board?
Yes. Some yachts work like floating guesthouses, with cabins, bathrooms and a galley. Overnight stays are available in Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Paraty and the Lakes Region.
What is the difference between a sailboat and a motor yacht?
A sailboat is powered by the wind and also has an engine. A motor yacht runs on engines only and is usually faster.
How long has Rio Yacht Charter been in business?
For more than ten years. We started in Angra dos Reis and today we operate in Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Paraty and the Lakes Region.
What is included in a day charter?
The yacht with crew, for five to eight hours depending on the destination. You can bring your own food and drinks, as our yachts have coolers for ice, or add our dining services.
Can I visit the yacht before booking?
Yes. Visits take place at Marina da Glória, where our office is. Arrange a time with our concierge.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We check the sea and weather forecast before departure. If conditions are not safe or pleasant, we adjust the route, for example by cruising inside Guanabara Bay, or discuss a new date with you.
How many people can come on board?
It depends on the yacht. For events, our fleet welcomes 20 to 145 guests. Each yacht’s capacity is listed in the catalogue.
